WET SCRAPPER CONVEYOR

Wet Scrapper also know as submerged scrapper conveyor largely used in sponge iron plant and power plant to collect the dust at elevated temperature. Construction is more or less identical to chain conveyor filled with water, however differs in tail end and drive end. Both the ends are at inclined position normally restricted to 30 degree inclination. Wet scrapper will always have double strand construction with low linear speed as theses are usually used for highly abrasive material at elevated temperature ( upto 900 Degree Centigrade ). In sponge iron plants of capacity 200 TPD and below the dust will be passed through dust cooling tower and then dust settling chamber. Wet Scrapper are installed below this DCT and DSC. Where as in power plant below the boiler to collect the unburnt ash, the wet scrapper/SCC are installed.
  
     

TECHNICAL DETAILS

    
1. Standard wet scrapper are made out of carbon steel.
2. Used for carrying abrasive materials at elevated temperature ogf 900 degree centigrade.
3. The speed of chain link is normally controlled between 0.05 to 0.06 m/sec.
4. Wear liner shall be provided with cast basalt linning.
5. Chain shall be selected as per DIN standard 20MnCr5 OR equivalent IS 4432 standard.
6. Shaft selection shall be done according to BS 970.
7. Sprocket shall be split type construction.
8. Water level indication shall be provided to maintain water level.

The selection and design of wet scrapper depends upon the distance between inlet and outlet opening as well as on the height of coloumn available.
