CAST BASALT

OVERVIEW

   

CAST BASALT is produced by melting basalt rock and then shaped into tiles or cylinders. The special heat treatment process forms a fine crystalline structure that gives CAST BASALT its outstanding qualities to resist sliding abrasion. CAST BASALT is used to enhance the life of various process equipments in power plants, steel and cement plants.

The pipes and bends are supplied ready for installation.Cast Basalt is best wherever sliding abrasion exists. Moreover, external impact strength of composite basalt pipe (enclosed in M.S. Shell) is always more than that of Ni-Hard
Life of basalt lined pipe is estimated to be 7 to 10 times that of Cast Iron, and 3 to 4 times that of Ni-hard Steel

   
     
Demech is the only Indian manufacturer of these specialty products which gives an advantage to form Cast Basalt products in various shapes.
Normal Basalt generally shatters into fragments when broken. But Demech's Cast Basalt pieces will remain in one piece even if broken.

They are designed not to break in fragments in case internal pressure is built up causing pipe failure,This avoids chocking of the system in case of emergency.
